1. Why did you become a Freemason?

I was inspired to follow in the footsteps of my immediate elder brother, who is now late. He was an example to me, and his character and values greatly influenced my decision to become a Freemason.

2. What did you think Freemasonry was before you joined?

I understood Freemasonry to be a good society of men who are respected in their communities, uphold high standards of dignity, and strive to live by strong moral values.

3. What is the biggest misconception about Freemasonry?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that Freemasonry is a secret society with supernatural powers. In reality, Freemasonry is about fellowship, moral development, self-improvement, and living a life guided by strong principles and faith in God.

4. What has Freemasonry changed in your life?

Freemasonry has made me a better person. It has strengthened my character, broadened my outlook on life, and deepened my belief and trust in God.

5. Would you recommend Freemasonry to someone else? Why?

Yes, I would. I would encourage anyone who shares our values and has a strong belief in God to learn more about Freemasonry and consider becoming part of this fraternity.

6. What does brotherhood mean to you?

Brotherhood means a great deal to me. It represents unity, fellowship, mutual respect, support, and a commitment to stand by one another. My involvement in the various branches of Freemasonry in Sierra Leone has given me a deeper appreciation of this bond.

7. What is your favorite thing about being a Mason?

One of my favorite aspects is the opportunity to stand before dignified Brethren, deliver a working, and give a high-level speech. It has helped me develop confidence, knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively.

8. What would you tell someone who thinks Freemasonry is a secret society?

I would tell them that Freemasonry is not about supernatural powers or anything mysterious. Freemasons have a strong relationship with God and believe in the Almighty as the source of our being. We also value fellowship, personal development, and enjoying a good and meaningful life while upholding our principles.

9. What is one lesson from Freemasonry that you use in everyday life?

One important lesson is that human beings are human beings. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and understanding this teaches us to be patient, tolerant, compassionate, and respectful towards others.

10. If you could explain Freemasonry to a non-Mason in one sentence, what would you say?

Freemasonry is an organized fraternity of men dedicated to improving their intellect and character, strengthening their relationship with God, and becoming better men who can make a positive contribution to the world around them.
